The text size have been saved as 106%.

#workschat is an hourlong Twitter chat focused on job and career-related topics.  #workschat occurs on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from noon to 1pm ET. To participate in #workschat, follow along with @NJWorks on Twitter.

#workschat was developed as a community for librarians and jobseekers; however, anyone is invited to attend, participation is not limited to New Jersey residents.

Tips for Successful Participation

  • Sign up for a Twitter account. In order to participate in #workschat, you must have a Twitter account.  You can sign up for a free account at http://twitter.com/
  • Use TweetChat.  For easy access to #workschat, we recommend using TweetChat. Enter #workschat at the top of the page, log-in using your Twitter account information, and you're ready to get started!
  • Use the hashtag. Use the hashtag #workschat at the end of each of your tweets to help in tracking and following the conversation thread.  This makes it easier to filter for messages pertaining to a specific chat.  If you use a tool like Tweet Chat it will do this for you automatically.
  • Join as soon as you feel comfortable.  Twitter chats can be overwhelming if you try to keep up with each tweet.  Focus on a few and respond as you become more comfortable.
  • Ask, ask, ask. Don't be afraid to ask questions throughout the Twitter Chat.  You can even reach out to the moderator (@NJWorks) beforehand for any questions you may have.
  • Start and End Times. Each chat starts at noon and ends promptly at 1:00pm.  But the conversation does not have to end there.  Feel free to connect with @NJWorks or fellow "Twitter chatters" for more information.
  • Use the proper format.  When participating topic questions are posted, the format “Q1.”, “Q2.”, and so on is used. You can share your answers by replying with “A1.”, A2.” and so forth.
